Yesterday Slipped By!

I totally forgot to blog yesterday - I was busy rearranging my computers! I decided to take my desktop upstair to the spare bedroom. After setting it back up, I realized there wasn't enough room on the small table for the mouse. I use a trackball, so forgot about the space needed for a regular mouse. This morning we went to Wal-Mart and found a small computer table - it's perfect.

Later the doorbell rang - it was Bruce's online order. A new helmet to wear when riding his ATV. Very futuristic!

Maybe my online order will come tomorrow - a new carrying case for my new netbook! Online ordering is so easy - I love it!

What a Nice Day!

This morning, we headed to a nearby truck stop for breakfast - everyone raves about how great the food is. Unfortunately, I didn't bring my camera, but just inside the entrance is an 18-wheeler truck on display. Breakfast was delicious and afterwards, we went to see Rick & Sherry's kitchen remodel - it's not quite done, but looking really nice. After that, we stopped at Wal-Mart for a few things.

Yes, I Did It!

After much research - I decided on the netbook. This morning, we went to Staples, found a salesman to help us, and told him what we wanted. He checked the 'backroom,' found the model and brought it to the cashier. AND, it was selling for a reduced price!!!! It has an 8.9" screen and the case is blue!

A Little Cooler Today!

What a difference a day makes! Today it's around 74F degrees - my kind of temperature. Also today, I found out from the doctor that all the test I've had done over the past couple of weeks showed everything is normal. Thank goodness! I will continue to take iron pills on a daily basis until advised otherwise by the doctor. Next week, I'll have another blood test done - got my fingers crossed that my hemoglobin is now higher.

Later in the afternoon, we went to Staples - I want to buy a netbook for our travels - it would be much easier to take than my current laptop that I can barely lift once it is packed. I jotted down makes and prices, came back home and checked them out on the Internet. After comparing all, I'm ready to buy. I might check tomorrow to see if Staples has the one I want in stock.

For dinner, we grilled a couple of prime rib steaks - delicious. However, we got caught in a downpour - I ended up putting on my orange slicker - but it was fun!

Can It Get Any Hotter?

We're in Canada, it's not supposed to get this hot!! We have the same temps as Florida and Texas! At the moment, my thermometer is reading 98F and it's still climbing.

What to do today?

Go to the dump, of course! Bruce had to drop off some hazardous waste - oil, battery and propane tanks. I went along for the ride - of course I grabbed my camera as I went out the door. Since this was going to be a 'do nothing' day and beside that, it's brutally hot out there, I thought I'd take some pictures of the town dump!

Going to be a Hot One!

Although it's only 72F degrees this morning, weathermen predict that it's going to be hot. Still haven't started the A/C, but Bruce intends to do that this morning. I love air conditioning - give me that over hot, humid temperatures any time.

I received an email yesterday from my slim niece, Jackie. She is going to Weight Watchers in order to drop a few pounds. She also sent me a brownie recipe that includes liquefied black beans. Next time at the grocery store, I will look for low fat brownie mix - I figure the beans will add iron to my diet.

Here is a picture of Jackie at the sportsmen's club. Seriously, do you think she needs to lose weight?

It's Monday Again?

We tried a different grocery store this morning, but need to be trained on their procedures! Since our last visit to the store, they've switched from free plastic bags to charging for each bag - or you can use cardboard boxes. Don't know yet if we'll continue shopping there - but they do give air miles. That's a plus!

On our way back from the grocery store, we saw Smoky's brother trotting along the sidewalk a few blocks away from our house. It could have been Smoky, but the cat looked a bit smaller. Obviously he doesn't have the plush life that Smoky has!!!

It's going to be hot today - the A/C needs to be checked - yes, it's getting to be that time of year.

Happy Daddy's Day!

It was a great day! We were invited to Jeff and Paula's for a cookout - they had bought a huge prime rib roast which was put on the barbecue. It was delicious. To compliment the roast, Paula had prepared three delicious sides to go with it.

Dad's and their kid's toys!

What Happened to Our Nice Weather?

Weatherman said originally that we were going to have a sunny weekend - not so. It looks like today is going to be overcast and on the cool side.

TGIF - Again!

Bruce headed over to Jeff's this afternoon to help with his garage. Other than that, it's been a quiet day.

We Had Fun Yesterday!

We went into the city for an appointment and some shopping. I want a new camera so we stopped in Future Shop and Best Buy - neither store had the cameras I'm interested in. I'm thinking when I finally decide what to buy, I'll have to order it online. That's OK - I've bought many things this way.

Today, we went to the nursery in town to pick up a couple of plants. Our purchases are already in the ground - hope they grow and prosper!!!

Quiet Day!

Not much going on - Bruce washed the truck - it had been awhile since its last wash - Abilene, Texas, I believe.

Another Project Completed!

Today, Bruce was off to the hardware store to buy some gutters for the shed. Seems the water was dripping off the roof and getting the doors wet. Gutters will keep them dry and free from rotting!

Well done, Hon!!!

Almost forgot to mention, oil leak is fixed! Next warm day, we're off on a bike ride.

Another Day Working on the Bike

Bruce has bled the brakes - those are now fixed. Still working on the oil leak - he is confident that he can test it out within the next hour. I've got my fingers crossed. Since it is a warm day, it's hot in the shed.

No Bike Ride Today!

This morning, I was ready - had my boots on, helmet and gloves were laid on the counter when Bruce came in and gave me the bad news. There is still an oil leak and the back brakes don't work.

What to do today? Plant shrubs, of course.

We still have our prime rib to look forward to - will be barbequing that later this afternoon.

TGIF - Another Friday!

It's a gorgeous day. So far, I have gotten a lot done - laundry, shopping and Bruce is mowing the lawn. He was working on the bike early, but I don't know if he has fixed the oil leak. If he has, a ride is in order for tomorrow.

For sure tomorrow, we are grilling a prime rib and having a Caesar salad as a side. YUM!

Thursday, June 11, 2009

Talk About a Do Nothing Day!

That's exactly what it has been. Maybe something exciting will happen tomorrow. Bruce thought his oil leak on the bike was fixed - not so. Found a little puddle under it today when he went into the shed. The bike goes back on his "Things To Do" list.

Wednesday, June 10, 2009

Mid-Week!

Weather isn't cooperating with us, but Bruce did fix the bike today. If it's nice over the next couple of day, we're going for a bike ride. It's been about a year since I've been on it. But first Bruce will take it for a test ride 'around the block.'

It's Raining and Dreary!

Can you find the kitty in this picture? Even Smoky is settled in for the day.

Monday, June 8, 2009

Another Day Working on Bike!

I've got my fingers crossed!!!

Out for a test run! Still needs some minor work!

Sunday, June 7, 2009

It Didn't Happen!

Bike has an oil leak that needs attention. The bike ride will be another day.

Saturday, June 6, 2009

Seems to be a Quiet Day!

Bruce is busy putting his motorcycle back together. I've only poked my head in the shed a few times, so I don't really know if all is going together as it should. Once that is completed, maybe a ride is in the near future!!!

Some old pictures!

What Happened to Yesterday?

With such a gorgeous day, I forgot all about posting. When I realized it, the computer was shut down for the night. We did the usual outside things during the day - sat in the sun, watched Smoky roll around in the dirt, and grilled a couple of steaks.

Bruce's pressure washer died, so this morning we were off to buy a new one! Seems nothing last forever - the old one was bought in 2004. You'd think it should have lasted at least for 10 years.

Here's the replacement.

Another Busy Day!

Bright and early this morning, got my haircut - it was long overdue. Then I cleaned the trailer floor - hands and knees kind of scrubbing. While I was doing that, Bruce installed the new hydraulic hitch that we bought in NY at Camping World. This is going to make Bruce's life easier.

Of course, Smoky stood by to supervise the whole procedure.

Got Up Early . . .

To prepare for my ultra-sound. I was told to drink four (or more) cups of water at least 1-1/2 hours before the scan. I did just that, no more - no less. The procedure took about 45 minutes - only complaint I had, the room was cold and I could feel myself starting to shiver. Glad that is over - one more to go next week!!!

Bruce is busy putting a hydraulic hitch on the trailer. It will make hooking up the truck and trailer much easier. Our next camping adventure is in July - a blue grass festival.

Another Day of Catch Up!

Since getting home on Saturday, our weather hasn't been great! As a matter of fact, we had snow and hail yesterday.
