Vacation is Almost Over!

At this very moment, we sitting in our trailer at a campground just north of Rome, NY.  A huge storm has been predicted to hit this area by seven.  Rain is starting to fall and the trees are bent from the wind.  We don’t have our awning out or chairs, we’re just waiting.  But backing up to last Wednesday, we got ‘out of town’ around 5:45a.m.  Unfortunately, one of the trailer lights had burned out, so we stopped at a Wal-Mart just after seven in the morning.  Didn’t even know stores opened at that time.  We finally got to my nephew’s house around 3:30p.m.  After setting up the trailer, I called my sister, asked Andy if he wanted to join us for dinner at the Grapevine, and off we went.  Jackie joined up for dinner since her family was off and running in different directions.  OK – I’ve got pictures.

I thought this was an awesome picture!!!  You can’t image the noise this plane creates.

You can see the plane way off in the trees getting ready to land.

The parrot we bought at the Christmas Tree Shop.  It lit up for one night, after that – the battery was dead.

A family portrait.  The lady in the back on the right is my cousin, Eva.  Her hubby is standing next to her.  In the front, my nephew, Andy and my sister.

Andy and Bruce’s cookout.  More food that we could possibly eat.  Good food, good friends.

Yankee Candle is a fun place to browse through.  So much stuff.  No, we didn’t buy anything.  By the time we did this walk through, the truck was full – couldn’t  fit any more into it.

See those little faces next to Bruce.  I wanted one, but didn’t buy it.  Kind of regret it now.

Roof is Done!

And it looks great.  I tried to get some pictures, but I’m not tall enough to get a really good shot.

Turned into a Rainy Day!

And all the roofers have left.  Hope tomorrow is a sunny one.  Bruce took a few pictures yesterday of the work in progress.

Roofing Crew are Here!

They said they would start the job at eight this morning, and they were true to their word.  How great is that.  It’s a beautiful day – perfect for putting on a new roof.

Few Pictures -

I really haven’t been taking too many so far this month.  I did decide to re-pot my Christmas cacti – completed one on the right!  I still need to buy another larger pot.

Getting ready for the next project – a new roof.  No, Bruce & the boys aren’t going to be doing this one.  This truck is delivering the shingles needed to ‘get ‘er done.’2012_0507_132006AA2012_0507_132218AA2012_0507_132606AA2012_0507_133701AA
Hopefully after the weekend, weather will be nice – so stay tuned, I’ll have pictures of the work in progress!  This weekend, we’ll also be working on the trailer for our trip to Andy’s Campground in Granby!

Gloomy Day in May!

Already May 2 – I’m now looking forward to Memorial Day when we’ll head to Massachusetts.  But in the meantime, here are some new pictures.

You’d think I liked to cook since I have so many pictures of dishes I’ve made.  But that’s not the case.  These are roll-up lasagne noodles filled with meat and cheese.

Over the winter, our flags became tattered and faded.  Bruce put up some new ones when the weather finally warmed up.  Don’t they look great?
