It's a Sunny Day! Finally!

Just enough sunshine to finish off a project that Bruce started the other day - putting lattice work on the bottom of one of our sheds.

Before . . .

After . . .

Now all I have to do is convince Bruce to make some window shutters for both sheds.

Did I Say Rain?

Yes, it's another rainy day. Wish I could send some of this wet weather south to Texas!

Tuesday, EH?

Last night we discovered that Smoky's wound had become infected - so I got out the Polysporin. He wasn't too happy about that - after the application, he spent at least an hour trying to first lick his paw, then his face. By the time he was finished, he was one greasy cat.

This morning, he wasn't pretty, so I took a wet paper towel to clean him up, then reapplied the ointment. It looks much better - seems to be drying up and starting to heal.

As for today, although the temperature isn't that high (80F), it's very humid outside. I'd rather be in the house with A/C where it's nice and cool. Easier to breathe, too.

Another Dreary Day!

Nothing to write about! Weather has been so wet, there isn't much you can do other than sit at the computer. Or maybe clean the house, but I don't feel like doing that!

Yesterday Afternoon . . .

I walked around the house looking for some photo opportunities. All I came up with are a couple of flower pictures.

Smoky had recovered from his fight and was enjoying the evening - "Scratch my tummy!"

There's a New Gunslinger in Town?

This morning, I let Smoky out at five! That's a usual time and the time he starts whining to go outside. At eight, when I went to let him in (after putting down tuna and kitty treats), I opened the back door. He just laid there and looked at me. He usually is anxious to get in and chats continually. This time - nothing. I stepped outside, picked him up, then set him on the kitchen floor - I could see tufts of hair on his usually well groomed fur. He ignored the dishes I had set out for him and headed upstairs to the front bedroom. He couldn't even jump up - so I lifted him onto the bed. Poor guy! That's where he is now - sleeping in his 'safe' place. But, is he the winner or the loser?

No more going out when it is still dark - he'll have to wait until the sun shines, even if I have to lock him out of the bedroom so I won't hear his meowing to go out.

Talk about invading one's privacy!

Yesterday's Pictures

Our ride around the valley wasn't that far - maybe 30 miles out, then back. I had to take a few pictures using the camera's zoom to figure out exactly what was going on. However, I think it's going to work out just fine. There are a couple of features that it doesn't have - one that I was already aware of - the flash has to be manually popped up before using it. I didn't know that a panorama scene has to be stitched together using the camera's software on a computer instead of having this process done by the camera. Oh well . . .

We Had a Great Day!

After a whole year, I finally got a ride on the motorcycle. We didn't go far, just road along the Madawaska River as far as Mountain Chute. I, of course, had my new camera with me - Bruce had his camera with the new zoom lens. We took a bunch of pictures. I have to sort them out and will post them tomorrow.

On our ride, we spotted a chip stand so stopped there for fries. Every town in the valley has at least three or four chip stands!

Tonight we're watching another episode of Big Brother. What a group - my list of those I want to go home keeps getting longer!

This is our motorcycle . . .

It's Here!

My new camera came this afternoon. I have to wait at least two hours for the battery to charge before I can really check it out. Hope it lives up to my expectations!!!! It's a Nikon Coolpix P90.

Where's Our Nice Warm Day?

It started out cool, but as the day went by, it did warm up. We grilled a prime rib, with broccoli and potatoes as sides. YUM! I also enjoyed some strawberry frozen yogurt.

We'll be watching Big Brother tonight. Anyone watch that program? It's only been one week and it seems it's turning into a shouting match. Some strong personalities have to go.

I should get my new camera tomorrow, but in the meantime I took a few pictures today with the old!

Camera Throw Down!

The new lens Bruce bought for his camera arrived yesterday, so this morning we drove around to take pictures. I grabbed my Kodak to challenge him. My new camera should be here on Monday!

Bruce's pictures:

My pictures - Bruce took 18 pictures, I took 47, so I had more to pick from!

It's Turning Into a Hot Day!

Bruce decided to cross one project off his 'List.' I grabbed my camera and went out the help him. It is very humid and seems hotter than it actually is. Project is to fill the window wells with stone.

Smoky loves it when we are outside - usually gets very playful. Today, he kept attacking my ankles as I walked around. So cute!

Yep, that's Bruce with his head in the window well - smoothing rocks.

Some pictures of plants and shrubs around the house. Those next to the carport are sunflowers - anxious to see them in bloom.

Job well done!
