Everyone seems to be doing something, even if it is just mowing their lawns. Yesterday was a perfect day – got a lot done. The day was actually hot – 86F degrees. And of course the bugs were out! They love me – I ended up with a couple of itchy bites. I took a few pictures and we grilled a prime rib. Oh going back a few hours, I wanted to put the screens up on our new doors only to discover one was too big by an inch, the other too small by an inch. Bruce took them back to the hardware store, came back with one and the other has to be ordered. How can a company send out a product totally screwed up. We bought the doors at different times and both had a problem. Wonder what the company’s track record is for getting it right.

Catching Up!
Last week, we ordered a little pocket camera for Bruce. I also carry one in my purse, just in case I get a photo opportunity. Bruce’s is a Samsung – 14mp with a 5X optical zoom.
It takes a nice picture . . .
Two more weeks and we’ll be in Granby, MA at the sportsmen’s club. We are looking forward to getting away.

So Traumatic!
Yesterday we took Smoky to the vet to get his dry skin condition checked. The vet thought it was due to an allergy so Smoky was given a steroid shot. The effects of the shot should show his skin improving in about 3 – 5 days. He also lost three pounds, I was concerned about that, but the doctor said he could lose a few more. He did weigh 16.7 pounds last year, yesterday 13.3. On the way to the vet’s I held Smoky in my arms. His little head spun around looking at all the sights. But on the way home, he huddled on the floor – I thought he was trying to disappear under the dash. Poor little guy.
In two weeks, we have to bring him back for his regular shots.

Our First Bike Ride of the Season!
The weekend was warm – Saturday more so than Sunday, but we decided to pull the bike out of the shed and head out for parts unknown. Over the years, we’ve traveled all over these roads, but after a few months, some felt unfamiliar. Our first stop was at the Bonnechere River – it was awesome. I pulled out my pocket camera only to discover that it wouldn’t turn on. I immediately thought my battery had died. So I then took a few pictures with my cell phone.
We headed to the other side, I again took out my pocket camera and this time it turned on – thank goodness!
We crossed the street and rode down a little road that gave a better view. Across the river, it looked as if there might be a few caves. I wonder . . .
Bike is getting old, but it looks darn good. We’re planning a bike trip in June – it’s been a long time since we’ve done that – about eight years.
Some of the country side.
Church in small town Douglas.
The famous Douglas Tavern – lots of partying going on there every year on St. Patrick’s Day.
Filling up for the next ride.
