Not A Good Weekend!

My sister had emergency surgery on Sunday, our plans are to head to Massachusetts tomorrow to visit her at the UMass Medical Center in Worcester. We'll be back home the following Tuesday (April 6).

Weigh In Day!

I guess we've been pretty good this past week. I'm down 1.6 pounds, Bruce two pounds. In all, I've lost nine pounds, Bruce ten. We might get skinny yet! Ten more pounds and I can get back into my skinny jeans.

These are a couple of pictures taken on our last diet in 2002 which was strictly low carb. This time, we aren't doing a strict low carb diet - just giving up the snacking in between meals. Yes, pictures were taken at Cape Cod.

It's Been a Quiet Week!

Even television programming has been less than exciting. Thought I'd post a few of my favorite pictures taken over the past 10 years. I've even printed them and have them in my living and dining rooms.

Monday!

It's been pretty quiet around here since we got back from our vacation. We're already planning on another for April. This time it looks like Williamsburg, Virginia.

Bruce has been busy this afternoon, me too! A while back, Bruce dented the truck's tailgate, so he has decided to try and fix it. My activity was just vacuuming the bedrooms! Exciting, eh?

This is the tailgate - I think Bruce is using Gorilla Glue. Have you ever tried it?

There are still a few patches of snow around the neighborhood. With a few more nice days, it will all be gone. Got my fingers crossed that 'snow season' is over.

This is the ground cover in front of the house. Looks like it's started to come alive. We'll be raking around the house one the ground dries a little and it warms up..

My Diet is Still On!

Over our vacation, I managed to maintain my previous weight loss in spite of the desserts I was eating. I also bought a new scale when we were in Massachusetts - it will show your weight in pounds and ounces, plus give you your body fat and BMI. I did take pictures of most of those desserts I ate with the exception of one that I had at the Grapevine in Belchertown. It had a baklava crust and the bottom of it tasted like bread pudding - it was absolutely delicious.

Our first indulgence was bought at LaFiorentina in Northampton - a cannoli. And, yes, Bruce ate one, too.

My second indulgence was Strawberry Cheesecake at the Cheesecake Factory in Boston. Shared with Bruce.

And since our weigh-in last Friday, I've lost two more pounds.

Second Day of Touring Boston!

Because we didn't stop at every stop on Saturday, Bruce had gone over the tour map and selected the stops for the day. Our first one would be Fenway Park, if the bus got there in time for the start. We rushed up the side street to the team store where the tour would start and arrived with about two minutes to spare.

Oldest firehouse in Boston. Because the doors were so low, the engines had to be made 14 inches shorter than normal.

Fenway Park - cleaning up after the outdoor hockey game. It should be ready for the season opening.
