It was all planned a week before hand, two of the three motel rooms already paid for. So when our weekend was due, we hit the road. On Friday morning, we were surprised to find that it wasn’t raining. Rob called and said he’d meet us on the highway instead of coming to the house. It takes at least a couple of hours to get to the border.

A stop at the Duty Free before crossing the bridge to the United States.
In Ogdensburg, we found a small family restaurant for breakfast.
While we were sitting in the restaurant – the rain came down in buckets. No stopping now, we zipped up our rain suits and climbed back on the bikes.
Stopping for gas, Rob spotted an old jeep and had to check it out.
A general store in one of the small lake towns. Bruce & I have stopped in here before – a neat place.
The fog was a surprise. Can the weather get any worse?

Looking out at the dismal weather.
A quick stop to take some pictures.
Finally at our motel in North Conway, NH -
We should have stayed here and each got a theme room. Bruce said he would have picked the ‘Banker’ room.
Waiting for dinner.
Walking back to our motel.

Where we stayed – the Clarendon Motel.

OK – we took a wrong road and had to cut across an unpaved road, hoping it would come out where we wanted to be.
Thank goodness we found the road to the ferry.
Chaps were hurting my knees, so I took them off. Then I had to find a place to stash them.
