The town snow dump!
Snow is gone – buds are starting to emerge! This is a little squirrel that Bruce spotted on the back fence. Looks like he’s tuckered out!
Removal of railroad tracks in town is nearing an end. Almost all cleaned up.

I’m pretty much caught up back home – grocery shopping, laundry, etc. If I don’t write about our vacation soon, I’ll forget about the details!
The morning we were leaving, we had forgotten about the time change. So when we got up at four in the morning, our bodies were still at three. Being a tired passenger in a vehicle for nine hours tends to make you catch a few winks whenever you can.
We arrived in Granby around two, Andy’s boys were there to help us with our luggage. We aren’t used to that – loved it! We then gathered up my sister and Andy and went to the Grapevine in Belchertown for dinner. YUM.
Monday we again picked up my sister and headed towards Hadley – had breakfast, then shopped at Wal-Mart, Wholefoods, Staples and Best Buy. We also visited our friends, Rita & Charlie, since I had a small netbook that I wanted to give Charlie. It’s always fun to visit with them and catch up.
On Tuesday, we headed for Provincetown on Cape Cod.
However, checking into the motel that I had booked earlier, we learned that the wing with doors to the outside were closed and our ‘room’ was down the hall – a very long walk for my sister who has difficulty in walking long distances. The man at the desk understood our dilemma and refunded our money. Back in the truck, we headed for West Yarmouth thinking we’d certainly find a room to fit our needs. We did after driving around for about 45 minutes – our room was basic, but clean.
The next morning, we packed up and headed towards our next destination – Newport, Rhode Island. Our time in Newport was spent sightseeing and eating.
Our room at the Newport Harbor Hotel & Marina.
Helping my sister!
Steamed clams – so good.
My lobster salad.
Bridge to Jamestown.
Ocean Avenue.
Cliff Walk.
Off the main street in Newport.
Back in Granby on Friday, we, my sister included, hooked up with Rita & Charlie for dinner.
And on Saturday, we had dinner with my sister, Andy, Jackie & Bud, my sister’s daughter and husband.
Sunday was a day of relaxing and gathering our things for the long trip home.
Trip back to Ontario!
Vehicles stopped by US Border Patrol – they were looking for anyone who might be crossing into Canada with more than $5,000.
That’s it!
February came and went. We didn’t do much – stayed home, but March is going to be different. We’ve already made plans to visit Provincetown at the Cape and Newport, Rhode Island. This is in addition to our trip to Granby to visit my sister and her family.
I didn’t take many pictures in February, but here are a few.
After watching about 100 ads for Eggies, we finally bought a package. My first attempt was a failure, but then I read the directions. To make these eggies, it takes some prep work, but in the end you don’t have to peel your eggs.
Because our sink is so heavy, the caulking at the back between the counter and the backsplash became separated. Here Bruce is putting in a new strip.
And we made a homemade pizza.
And of course, the days couldn’t go by without some new snow. But spring is just around the corner.
