On May 25 with trailer packed, we headed for the Chicopee Sportsmen’s Club in Granby. Our trip is always fun with a stop to buy some camping supplies and another to fill up our tummies. I know we’re almost there once we cross the Hudson River in New York.
I don’t know why, but I started taking pictures of trucks. Maybe because Bruce always kids me that every picture I take on a trip, I always get a passing truck.
After setting up the trailer, we picked up my sister for dinner at the Grapevine in Belchertown – she loves their lasagne.
Another eating place was Lido’s on Worthington Street in Springfield. It’s been many years since either of us had been there – hint: Mass Mutual days. It was a favorite place to go after work.
Relaxing at the club . . .
The family gathered for a cookout on Memorial Day!
And what is Memorial Day without a trip to the cemetery.
The next day we headed north into Vermont. We stopped at the Vermont Country Store to browse and have lunch.
The campground I had picked out was excellent. Large site covered with grass – right on a corner lot overlooking a small pound.
The next day, we headed to Rock of Ages and took a tour to see the granite quarry.
Also visited Hope Cemetery . . .
Our next adventure took us to Ben & Jerry’s.
Next, Cabot Creamery!
And our trip home, there was some flooding around Lake Champlain.
And the windmills in upper New York State.
