Busy Last Two Days!

On Wednesday, the counter guy was here to make his template. It was interesting the way he did it - he laid out pieces of press board across the counter, then screwed it together in the shape of our largest counter. He indicated that the counters should be ready for installation next week. Haven't heard back yet with a definite date and time.

Bruce's brother and his wife arrived later in the afternoon loaded with snacks - cheeses, meats, crackers and veggies. Oh - I forgot to mention the wine!! It had been a few years since our last visit, so it was fun catching up on what they have been doing.

The next morning, we jumped into Barry's new car and headed up the valley. Most of the trees have color now, so it turned into a scenic ride. We stopped at the Wilno Tavern for lunch. This restaurant is known for it's home cooked food. Sam and I had meatball tomato basil soup - Bruce had a burger and fries, Barry opted for the sample platter which consisted of one cabbage roll, a pierogi, sausage and sauerkraut. When we were finished with our meals, Sam and I headed next door to check out the Pickle and Quilt store. There was one quilt on display selling for $1,000. Half the store was quilting materials, the other had a deli. We just poked around for a few minutes then left. With full tummies, we headed home. During Sam & Barry's stay, both of Bruce's sons stopped by to visit.

In the morning after a quick breakfast, our guests left - headed home. They've invited us to visit them in Florida during their winter vacation. That's always a great option - get away from the snow and cold temps of the Great White North.
