It's Been Forever . . .

Since I last posted on my blog.

We have had a lot of snow - it just keeps coming. Bruce clears the driveway one day, it snows during the night, then he has to do it all over again the next morning.

So, where have I been? Nowhere special - we did have a quiet New Year's Eve. Stayed in - just the two of us. Rick called to invite us to his party, but we declined. On New Year's Day, we had prime rib for dinner. I put it in the oven with a probe inserted into it and it was done exactly the way we like. Sides were Caesar salad and baked potatos. A perfect day.

Then I decided to reinstall the operating system on my old Dell - it ran at a snail's pace. After figuring out how to do that (I had to change the BIOS so that it would load from the CD drive), I got the OS installed. However, the driver for the Ethernet controller was nowhere to be found. I searched the internet for a solution - I think I spent two days on that! Nothing worked. Finally I decided to reinstall the reinstall. That didn't help - still no driver. Then I had a brain-wave, buy a wireless adapter for it. I bought one this morning - $36. If I had thought of that earlier, I would have saved myself two days of frustration.

Now - with our HP desktop computers, it was time to update our virus software. I did that yesterday and now my mail program doesn't work. Thank goodness, all the programs on Bruce's computer work. I'm now searching for a solution for my Windows Live Mail. It won't allow me to reinstall the program over the original one - I'd have to uninstall the old one first. Nothing is easy!!!
