Driving to Louisiana - A Wash Out!

During the night, a storm had gone through the area dumping over eleven inches of rain on Houston - highways and interstates were flooded and closed. This is exactly where we were heading. Trusting the GPS, we plotted out an alternate route south of Houston and picked out a smaller town in Louisiana for an overnight stay.

Settled into our hotel room in Houma, we walked over to a neighboring seafood restaurant. We wanted to check out local cuisine, so we asked the waitress to bring us some crawfish. We also ordered a bowl of gumbo.

Our review of the food, gumbo - delicious, crawfish - tasty, but they are a lot of work for what you get. Would probably try them again.
