Arriving in Las Vegas - Official Second Day!

By the time we picked up our rental car, checked in to our room it was after five (EST) in the morning. But here are some first pictures of Sin City - just awesome. The lights of the city are breathtaking - so much to see. Once we parked the car, we then had to find where to register for our hotel room - this took us through the casino - it seemed all of the hotels are set up that way - in order to get anywhere, you had to walk at least a mile through the slot machines and gaming tables. Even the restaurants were situated way in the back.

In the morning, we headed out to the Red Rock Canyon. This is the little car we rented - a Chevy Aveo. In all, we drove over 1,400 miles spending about $60 in gas.















Since California is about 40 miles from Las Vegas, I wanted to drive just over the line to say that we'd been there!

I forgot to mention, we stayed at the Stratosphere Hotel and Casino. This is the tower that we could see out of our room's window. At the very top are rides that a person can go on - don't think for one second that we considered doing this.
