Night in a Wigwam!

I don’t remember how I stumbled on to this motel, but I did and mentioned it to Bruce.  He was all for it, so I located it on my map – between Louisville and Nashville.  And in between, there was Lincoln’s birthplace, Fort Knox, plus the Corvette Museum – how great is that?

Unfortunately, Fort Knox did give tours – but we did snap a few pictures!

Our next stop was Lincoln’s birthplace – I wasn’t expecting such a great park – we did climb the steps to the monument and went inside to view the tiny cabin which was a replica of the cabin that Lincoln spent his early days in.  So tiny!

These little cabins were for rent, but NO, we didn’t stay here!

We also saw several fields with a crop we couldn’t quite figure out – we later discovered it was tobacco.  They grow it so differently than what we are used to seeing in the northeast.

And finally, we reached Wigwam Village.  The motel is in Cave City, Kentucky.

Leaving Cave City in the morning, we stopped at the Corvette Museum before heading to Nashville.
